Adding a Limit Code

To add a limit code:

From the Reference tab menu, click the Limit Codes hyperlink.
The system displays the Limit Codes page.
Select Add.
The system displays the Limit Code dialog.
Enter the limit code in the Limit Code field.
Enter the limit code description in the Description text box.
Select the limit type from the Limit Type drop-down.
Enter the limit value in the Limit Value field.
Select the period type from the Period Type drop-down.
Enter the time period value in the Time Period Value field.
Select the limit anchor date from the Limit Anchor Date drop-down.
Select the provider indicator from the Provider Indicator drop-down.
Enter the start date in the Start Date field.
Enter the end date in the End Date field (optional).
Select the PA override option from the PA Override drop-down (optional).
Select the gender option from the Gender drop-down.
Select the cut back bill indicator from the Cut Back Bill Indicator drop-down.
At the Error Code field, click the lookup arrow at the right of field.
The system displays the Claim Error Code lookup dialog.
Select the error code from the list box and click OK.
The system exits back to the Limit Code dialog where the Error Code field is now populated with your selection.
In the Dental section, select Yes or No from the Dental Attribute Flag drop-down to indicate whether the limit code has a dental attribute. If you select Yes, the other fields in the Dental section are activated.
Select the tooth classification from the Tooth Classification drop-down.
Select the tooth number from the Tooth Number drop-down.
Select the quadrant or area of the tooth from the Quadrant/Arch drop-down.
Select the tooth surface from the Tooth Surface drop-down.
When you are finished, click OK.
The system exits back to the Limit Codes page where the added limit code shows a status of “In Review.”
