Provider Maintenance

The Provider maintenance function is a web-based process that supports view, inquiry, and updates of Provider data. Updates can be entered by authorized Providers or by authorized WCMBP System personnel. Many updates undergo real-time validity and integrity checks, based on rules and matrices.

All updates are automatically placed in an “In-Review” status until approved or returned to provider by authorized the WCMBP System personnel. Only System-approved updates are applied to the Provider’s data at any given time. The maintenance function includes BPWs, available to both the WCMBP System personnel and authorized Providers, and an “Expert Mode” functionality available only to the WCMBP System personnel.

The WCMBP system retains a record of every change, by date, user, the decision made (approve or deny), and the date and reason why the review decision was made. The review wizard is used to approve changes. Review and approval functions are not visible, or accessible, to Providers engaging in self-service maintenance activity.
