Searching for a Bill
At the Inquire Bills page, use the filter fields to display the bill you want to view or update. To do this, select a search category from the Filter By drop-down and, in the adjacent text field, enter a full search term. These are the minimally required fields when performing a search on this page.
The system permits more than one criterion in your search. The categories in the Filter By drop-down are repeated in the four And drop-downs to give you up to four additional levels of filter. Like the Filter By field, you must enter a search term in the search field adjacent to each And field.
In addition to the Filter By and And drop-downs, the following drop-downs enable you to further refine your search:
-
In – Select whether the search show be in Header List or Line List information. The default is set to Header List.
-
With Status – Select the current status of the bill (for example, Adjusted, In Process, Suspended, Paid, etc.)
-
Processing Status – Select the current state of processing.
-
Programs – Select the program for the bill.
-
Submitted In – Select the time period in which the bill was submitted.
To search for a bill, select and enter your search criteria in the above fields as needed and click Go. For example, from the Filter By drop-down list, select Claim Type and enter a value (for example, P for Professional bills) in the adjacent text box, and click Go. The system displays an updated Inquire Bills list page with Professional bills.
Observe the following parameters when using the search filters:
-
The Filter By drop-down and adjacent search field are required fields for a search.
-
The wildcard character (%) cannot be used in search terms for the Filter By field or the first And field.
-
Dates must be entered in mm/dd/yyyy format.
-
The From/To Date category is available only on the Filter By drop-down and requires you to use both adjacent search fields to enter the date range. Enter the “from” date in the first field and the “to” date in the second.
-
If you search on a category that is not currently shown on the page as a column heading, a new, corresponding column will appear at the end of the list page. For example, if you search for Facility Type, the list page will add a new column named Facility Type at the end of the results table.
